"Black Ice" has topped the Canadian chart for a third straight week, selling 27,000 copies, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan. It has now racked up a grand total of 186,000 in sales since its release.
According to Undercover News, "Black Ice" album has been certified triple platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) for shipments in excess of 210,000 copies (an album qualifies for platinum certification if it exceeds 70,000 copies shipped to retailers). However, the actual sales as reported by the stores currently stand at 147,157, with 22,950 of those coming last week.
"Black Ice", which is exclusively available via Wal-Mart, Sam's Club and AC/DC's web site, has sold more than 1 million copies in the United States.
Special "pop-up" AC/DC stores are open through January 9 in New York City and Los Angeles, where Wal-Mart does not have stores.
AC/DC kicked off its world tour in support of "Black Ice" on October 28 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
